Living in an area of Florida where most of the flights are connecting gives me headaches. You know how you have to rush to meet that next flight or sit and wait for hours? That’s the bad news. I just saw a hilarious video called Connecting Flights, This Season’s Must See. Mentioning bloggers in this video and watching the story unfold is the good news.
Today my head is spinning and it will probably be like that until January! The short break to look at the video did me good. With a busy, hectic time of the year, we can use a good laugh.
It also brought back memories of one of the blogging conferences I attended. And yes, I had to take connecting flights round trip. Getting there wasn’t so bad. My first stop was in Atlanta. That’s a really busy airport and there wasn’t much time to get to my next flight. I made it and was on my way to see blogging friends that I only knew from online and see others that I’ve only seen just a few times.
The conference was a blast and ended too soon. It was difficult to leave, but I had to get home to my family. The drive to the airport lifted my spirits as I shared a ride with some good friends. Until, we walked into the airport.
It was a tiny one with most flights leaving from one gate. That area was crowded. Who did we see? Lots of the bloggers from the conference were sitting there, none looking happy. There was a storm somewhere and flights were delayed or cancelled. So they sat, waiting to see if they were going to make it home that day. The same happened with me and my group of friends.
Soon frustration turned into laughter. The gang of us kept tabs on each other. We ate lunch together at a small counter service restaurant with overpriced food. We went into the airport shop that had about two aisles of stuff. And thankfully we made it on to the next part of our journey. You never know who you’ll meet at the airport. Connecting flights can be the bane of our existence or cause us to have unexpected memories that last a lifetime.
